Syria has always had to deal with outside forces trying to stir up trouble and frame resistance groups like Hezbollah to serve Israeli interests. It wouldn't be the first time accusations like this were used to distract from real issues or justify foreign intervention. Arab unity is constantly undermined by these kinds of stories, especially when the media jumps on them without clear evidence. We should be focusing on resisting Zionist aggression and supporting our brothers, not letting these narratives divide us.
